DoorDasher accused of stealing cat from Sacramento home loses job

Ashley Prasad is left worrying for her cat’s protection.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento female said a DoorDash driver stole her cat off her driveway back again in March 2022.

Ashley Prasad not too long ago posted to Facebook saying that her cat, Mia, was taken off her driveway on Mar. 12 and is even now lacking. 

She contacted DoorDash and law enforcement but explained she still has small in phrases of responses. A month afterwards, she’s nevertheless trying to track down her cat.

ABC10 reached out to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Workplace concerning the incident, but the concept was not quickly returned.

Movie Prasad shared with ABC10 demonstrates the driver seeing the cat beneath the car or truck, putting the cat around the porch, retrieving the cat from below the car soon after it ran again and going for walks back to the supply car and driving away.

Right after Prasad reached out to DoorDash, Prasad was upset in the consequence. 

“DoorDash will not give any kind of details or update right after calling just about every day for the final 2 months and all they have done is terminate the man or woman that took her,” she said on Fb.

ABC10 reached out to DoorDash to adhere to up on the incident. They confirmed that the driver was taken out from their system.

A spokesperson for DoorDash named the act “completely unacceptable” in a assertion to ABC10.

“This actions is completely unacceptable and we have deactivated the Dasher involved when we look into further. We fully grasp how distressing this condition will have to be for the client and have reached out to provide our assist. We have also contacted law enforcement and stand prepared to help with any investigation,” a spokesperson for DoorDash told ABC10.

For now, Prasad is left involved for the cat’s safety. She’s asking for anyone with facts on the incident or particular person to access out to her.  

“I just want Mia residence and I want justice for the anxiety and distress this female has brought about,” Prasad wrote on Facebook.
