RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A tabby cat named OJ frequents Penick Road and shaped a bond with Jen Koca — a resident in the Lakeside local community in Richmond.
“We all joked that he was the king of the community,” Koca stated.

Although the orange cat selected a a lot more nomadic life-style — viewing various people’s yards and interacting with various members of the community — Koca took him in and cared for him. One particular working day, he returned with a apparent damage.
“He experienced a great circle wound on his neck.” Koca claimed.
After a few excursions to the vet, Koca uncovered — via an X-ray — the cat experienced a bullet lodged in his throat.
Whilst OJ now resides in Baltimore, Koca says he will always have a title for himself in Richmond. She posted his tale on social media, informing the community about the crime. In accordance to Virginia state law, harming any cat — feral or domestic — is illegal. Koca hopes Henrico Police can someway find OJ’s assailant.
“He was just about to go to his new residence when that happened and anyone tried using to take absent his second likelihood, but they did not succeed. He’s heading to reside an amazing daily life.”
OJ received a CT scan today, so veterinarians could determine the chance of his survival. Fortunately, veterinarians identified the bullet can be taken out, so OJ is scheduled for an extraction medical procedures with a Baltimore professional in June.
